THe Rules

All About Post Approval

Think of post approval in Facebook Groups like a guardian at the gate. When a group is set to “post approval” mode, every new post by members needs to be reviewed and okayed by the group admins or moderators before it appears in the group for all to see. This helps keep the conversation on track, ensures posts meet the group’s rules, and prevents spam or unwanted content from popping up. It’s like a quality control check to maintain a positive and relevant experience for all group members! By reviewing posts before they go live, admins and moderators can maintain a positive and respectful environment, encourage meaningful discussions, and keep the group focused on its purpose. This is especially important for groups focused around sensitive topics, professional networks, or communities with specific interests, where unwanted content could detract from the group’s value and drive members away.

With post approval, Facebook Group admins and moderators can ensure that all content shared in the group aligns with their community standards and goals. This feature helps to prevent spam, self-promotion, or off-topic posts from disrupting the conversation.

Turn Around Time

At the time of writing we are rapidly approaching 300k members, with 9 admins and moderators of varying levels of active. Please remember that the admins and mods are all volunteers, and with nearly a thousand posts a day it can take a while (up to a day, depending) for us to work through all the posts our members submit.
